Cloud Software Group and Microsoft have announced an eight-year strategic partnership agreement to deepen their collaboration. This agreement will enhance the go-to-market collaboration for the Citrix virtual application and desktop platform and support the development of new cloud and AI solutions with an integrated product roadmap. As part of the agreement, Cloud Software Group will make a $1.65bn commitment to the Microsoft cloud and its generative AI capabilities.

This partnership reinforces the longstanding alliance between Citrix, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, and Microsoft. Citrix is now the preferred Microsoft Global Azure Partner solution for Enterprise Desktop as a Service when working with joint Azure customers. The companies will collaborate to support customer success and provide tailored solutions, expert guidance, and support to accelerate customers’ cloud journeys. Additionally, Citrix will utilize Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud solution, giving Citrix customers the comprehensive benefits of the Citrix platform alongside Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365.

The agreement will also focus on accelerating productivity and new innovations in AI. Cloud Software Group is deploying GitHub Copilot to increase developer productivity by over 20%, speeding up R&D across the organization. Furthermore, Spotfire, a Cloud Software Group business unit, has introduced the Spotfire Copilot extension built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI service to help customers work more efficiently with their data.

To enhance collaboration and productivity, Cloud Software Group will transition all its employees to Microsoft 365, providing them with best-in-class productivity and AI tools for improved go-to-market activities. Judson Althoff, executive VP and chief commercial officer at Microsoft, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and the opportunities it presents for delivering transformative solutions to customers.
