Huawei outlines its vision for AI in the Asia-Pacific region
On May 9th, 2025, around 400 partners from the Asia Pacific region convened in Thailand for Huawei Cloud’s annual partner conference, themed “Go Together, Grow Together.” Jacqueline Shi, leading Huawei Cloud’s global marketing and sales, emphasized the company’s commitment to support regional partnerships in response to AI advancements over sectors such as government, finance, and telecom. To support partners, Huawei established a competence center which delivers training and technical support.
Huawei’s expansion in Asia Pacific has been significant, citing a thirty-fold growth in five years and partnerships exceeding 2,500. Currently, Huawei offers low-latency coverage for Asia Pacific with five cloud regions and 18 availability zones. Huawei announces that revenue with partners for the year 2024 alone leads to increase by 75%.
Huawei introduces Partner Sales Acceleration Program, which drives to improve product support and joint market strategies. This program leads to create fifty industry solutions. In addition, Huawei launched the “Industry Deep-Dive Initiative” program, which focuses on several sectors including internet, finance, and telecom to foster better collaboration and deliver targeted solutions with practical use cases.
Joy Huang discussed Huawei’s investment in AI infrastructure, targeting to connect millions of devices through cloud synergy. The “Cloud for AI” and “AI for Cloud” models were emphasized, supporting low-latency capabilities and robust AI tools. Updates on infrastructure were provided by Chief Product Officer William Fang, focusing on AI workload management through enhanced computing centers and hybrid deployment options.
A significant point was the growth of Huawei’s partner network, now including over 45,000 partners. The conference showcased collaborations with regional partners, emphasizing Huawei Cloud’s commitment to creating tailored AI tools and services to meet evolving industry needs.
